Catalina Ruiz

Obituary Catalina Ruiz, 78, of Chavez Street Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at Lakeview Christian Home. Catalina was born on November 25, 1942, in Hagerman, New Mexico to Lacardio and Cruz Ruiz. Visitation is from 3:00 PM 4:30 PM Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. The family will later have private services at St. Edward Catholic Church. Cremation will follow services. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of services. Catalina was a joyous and caring person. She always was willing to help others, and volunteered at San Jose Senior Center. While in Landsun, she was known as Momma Hen and was there for the other residence. Catalina loved to travel, especially to the mountains, Cadillac and Lincoln cars, dancing and listening to music, gardening, and cooking. Family was her priority, and Catalina was everyones cheerleader. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports, and family functions. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Catalina was preceded in death by father, Lacardio Ruiz; mother, Cruz Ruiz; 7 brothers: Luis Ruiz, Johnny Ruiz, Benny Ruiz, Presiliano Ruiz, Martin Ruiz, Felix Ruiz, and Inez Ruiz; 5 sisters: Mary Ramirez, Lazara Ortega, Eufemia Escaldon, Teresa, and Francisca Perez. Catalina is survived by her son, Johnny Ruiz of Carlsbad, NM; granddaughter, Veronica Ruiz and Michael Vazquez of Carlsbad, NM; 2 great-granddaughters: Izabella Vazquez and Addyson Vazquez; sister, Dominga Dominguez of Roswell, NM; sister, Simona Rodriguez of Anaheim, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ruben Ramirez, Mario Ramirez, Jacob Ramirez, Michael Ramirezand Michael Vazquez.
