Carol B. Worley, 75, passed away May 30, 2025 at her home in Carlsbad, NM surrounded by her family. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 3, 2025, 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, 2025, 10:00 AM at New Song Christian Fellowship with Pastor John W. Burke officiating. Burial will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM.
Carol was born to Harry and Betty (Granet) Morelli December 13, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Carlsbad with her family as a young girl. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1968 and married her high school sweetheart that same year, September 14, 1968 in Ft. Belvoir, VA. They returned to Carlsbad in 1971 after Wayne’s service in the US Army. Carol’s priority in life was first and foremost her faith in God, sharing her love for family and giving back to her community. She was active in Bethel Baptist Church and Christian School in the early years and most recently at New Song Christian Fellowship. Carol was active in Epsilon Sigma Alpha for many years which enabled her to fulfill the philanthropic calling in her life. She was instrumental in starting Packs for Hunger, Shona’s Dream and continually looked for ways to help veterans, church families and community members in need. Carol has received numerous awards and certificates for her generosity over the years, but always made sure everyone knew it was a group effort. She never did it alone and absolutely loved helping others. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Teri Able; nephews, Robert Taylor Morelli, Gregory George and brother-in-law, David George.
Carol is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wayne Worley; daughter, Sarah Worley and Sam Garcia; son, Tim Worley and April Banks; grandchildren, Alliena Cavazos and husband, Sergio and Tylor Worley, Ashton Banks, Kathrine Banks; great grandchildren, Salliena, Atilio, Cecilia, Catalina, Emilio and Evelyna; siblings, Lois George, Robert Morelli and wife, Renee, Richard Morelli and wife, Sharon, Steven Morelli, Charles Morelli and wife, Amy and numerous nieces and nephews.
