Bubba Briones

Bubba Briones, 44, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away August 1, 2025. Manuel Dale Briones was born December 24, 1980, in Carlsbad, NM.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Oasis Church with Pastor Joel Lacourse officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to Bubba. To know him was to love him. Bubba never met a stranger, and he knew everyone. He was the life of the party. With a laugh that would light up a room and a soul full of compassion, he made the world a better place. Bubba loved the outdoors. Whether it was hunting at the river or country cruising, you could count him in. When he wasn’t at work, he was spending time with his family, which was the world to him.

Bubba leaves behind a legacy of love: Weldon Briones, Brodee Hedgecock and Brooklyn Cantwell. He was very big on family! He made sure his family knew how proud he was of them and how much he loved them, every phone call and every time he was with them. He was a good-hearted man, always happy go lucky! Bubba always had a good story to tell! Willingness to just help no matter what. There was never a dull moment with Bubba around.

He was proud of his last name, always made sure every new person knew his whole family: Dad, mom, brother, sisters, nieces and nephews and his kids. He will forever be missed and loved by everyone. Bubba was preceded in death by his grandparents: Manuel and JoAnn Briones and Dale, Sr and Phyllis Vickrey.

He is survived by his mother, Ann Harrelson and husband, Carl; father, Tim Briones and wife, Lupe; companion, Jill Stanley; son, Weldon Briones and Madi Hutchison; daughters, Brodee Hedgecock and Brooklyn Cantwell; siblings: Tim Briones Jr. and Kristle Parraz, Onetia Rios and husband, Kenneth, Regina Briones and Jerry Wagner, Fabian Navarrette and wife, Vickie, Krissy Navarrette and Prissy Rodriguez and husband, Alan; nieces and nephews: Cody, Tayler, Zoe, Bryson, Kamrien, Kamille, Kaliyah, Kaleb, Kinsley, Jacelyn, Jaylee, Vincent, Aalijah, Mason, Noah and Benny; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Cody Briones, Tim Briones, Dale Vickrey, Kenneth Rios, Jimmy Bunch, and Kamrien Rios. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaleb Rios, Cody Rich, and Jeremy Abernathy.
