Bobby Ray Mallett II

Bobby Ray Mallett II, 29, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2024, at Carlsbad Medical Center.

Bobby was born in Glendale, AZ, on September 6, 1994, to Bobby Mallett I and Glenda Mallett, Bobby was a spirited and engaging individual from a young age. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2013, where he was a committed student and an accomplished athlete, even being ranked as the #1 player at his position in New Mexico. As a linebacker for the Carlsbad Cavemen, he demonstrated leadership and teamwork, which his father and coach in the Little Cavemen League deeply instilled in him.

Bobby's professional life was dedicated to the oilfield as a gas measurement technician, a role he excelled in due to his keen interest in electronics and technology. His ambitions led him to dream of a future in computer science, where he hoped to innovate and solve complex problems. He was always eager to learn.

More than his career and hobbies, Bobby was a devoted father to his son, Jaxson, who was his pride and joy. Together, they shared countless hours playing sports, watching games, wrestling, and exploring the world of video games. His role as a father defined him, and his love for Jaxson was evident to all who knew him.

Bobby was known for his compassion, intelligence, and humor, Bobby brought laughter and kindness into the lives of many. His enthusiasm for life, sports, and his ability to light up a room will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Bobby is survived by son Jaxson Mallett of Carlsbad, NM; parents: Bobby and Glenda Mallett of Carlsbad, NM; sister: Kaila Porras, (husband) Sammy Porras of Carlsbad, NM; brother Kyle Mallett of Carlsbad, NM; nephew Jayce Porras of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

The pallbearers will be Kyle Mallett, Sammy Porras, Dillion Caddell, Elvis Acosta, Jared Rodriguez, Marcus Arrington, Artie Arias, and Graig Kupcak. Honorary Pallbearer is Brant Sanders.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Bobby's life on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Denton Wood Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow on Saturday, May 4, at 10:00 AM at Calvary Assembly of God, officiated by Pastor Phillip Price, with interment thereafter. There will be a meal following the cemetery back at Calvary that all are invited to attend.
