Bobby J. Moseley, age 42, of N. Edward Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, at Covenant Medical Center in Hobbs, NM. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Clay Carlson of Faith Baptist Church will officiate. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Bobby will be laid to rest with his brother David and his mother.
Born August 24, 1983, in Artesia, NM, Bobby grew up with a generous heart and a spirited personality. He was the youngest of seven children and he was his moms last blessing to bring into this world. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2002 and went on to work at Walmart, Intrepid, Harbour Freight, Tate Branch, and most recently at Equipment Share, where he was known for his dedication and friendly nature. Bobby enjoyed fishing every chance he could get, taking walks — even though those walks became harder in the last three years — and loved watching the sunrise. He especially treasured visiting with Kassie and her grandparents, where he felt he could laugh freely and simply be himself.
Bobby was a passionate San Francisco 49ers fan and found joy in all kinds of music, often sharing his favorite songs with those around him. He loved spending time with his daughter, Kassie, and especially cherished teaching her how to drive — a memory she will hold close forever. And when he was feeling down, he would go out for a drive and find someone to visit with.
Faith became a profound part of Bobby’s journey. After being diagnosed with brain cancer, he was baptized and leaned deeply into his relationship with God. He underwent surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation with courage and grace. Bobby often invited friends and family to attend church with him and enjoyed attending several churches. Bobby's favorite scripture was Psalms 27:1–3 — a passage that reflected his strength and unwavering belief in the Lord.
He gave his time generously, volunteering at Desert Willow Wildlife and Living Desert State Park and picking up food donations with Janice so they could help others who could not get out on their own. Though it was difficult for Bobby to volunteer due to his disability, he faithfully showed up, determined to contribute and connect with others. His quiet perseverance was a testament to his strength and heart.
Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Thelma Louise Moseley, and his brother and best friend, David Moseley.
He is survived by his daughter, Kassie Moseley; his loyal four-legged companion, Andy; siblings Billye Moore and husband, Stephen; Cheryl Bolen and husband, Troy; April M. Ross; Howard B. Friesenhahn and wife, Caroline; Hubert B. Friesenhahn and wife, Peggy; along with many nieces and nephews who will miss his laughter and love — and little Penelope, who will miss her Uncle Bobby picking her up from school.
A special thank you to many unnamed friends, neighbors, classmates and previous co-workers who stood by Bobby with love and support.
Most importantly, Bobby would ask that you not forget to make time for your friends, loved ones, and reach out to the elderly and disabled. Make a difference by visiting those who can no longer get out, those who have no family, or simply enjoy the family you don’t get to see often enough. Bobby believed in the power of connection and kindness — let his memory inspire us to live with that same compassion.
In place of flowers, please consider making a donation or volunteering to help at Desert Willow in remembrance of Bobby.
