Bobbie J. Elmore, age 83, died at her home on December 22, 2009. She was born May 25, 1926 in Clebit, Oklahoma she grew up in El Paso, Texas and married Marshall Elmore Oct. 13, 1945 in Port Arthur, Texas. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage, they raised their family in El Paso, Texas and Carlsbad, NM. Bobbie was a homemaker and volunteer, she taught Sunday School for 42 years, served many years as Women's Missionary Union director and volunteered in Carlsbad Soup Kitchen and at Calvery Baptist Center. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband Marshall in 1987. She relocated to California in 2000. Continuing her passion for serving others, she was a member of Clayton Valley Church in Concord, serving on the CVC Missions Committee and Senior's Council and as a mentor to women. She was also active with the local Child's Evangelism Foundation. Bobbie is survived by daughters Marsha Bradley (Gene Bradley), Carlsbad, NM and Nancy DeLancey (Paul DeLancey), Walnut Creek, CA. Bobbie was an outstanding grandmother to her 4 grandchildren: Matt, Jason and Amanda Bradley Lujan and David DeLancey - and was blessed with nine great grandchildren; sister Janice Smith (husband Robert) of Albuquerque, NM and sister-in-law Bess Davidson of Woodville, TX. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 112 N. Alameda, Carlsbad, NM. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, 112 N. Alameda, Carlsbad, NM. Burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the Marshall and Bobbie Elmore Memorial Fund which benefits the New Mexico Baptist Children's Home. Contributions may be sent to New Mexico Baptist Foundation, PO Box 16560, Albuquerque, NM 87191-6560 to the attention of Rick Breeden.
