Bill Washburn, 77, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022. Bill was born on August 4. 1945, in Floydada, TX to Arthur and Mary (Little) Washburn.

 

Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held after the new year. Condolence may be expressed online at dentonwood.com

 

From a young age, Bill learned that a strong work ethic would take him far. He was a hard worker. and always got the job done. He spent most of his years truck driving in the oilfield, and many years as a pusher on pulling units. He hardly ever took any days off. Bill enjoyed playing his guitar and singing country and western music. Music was a source of joy, and he became well versed in the craft. He enjoyed going hunting. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

 

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Otto Washburn; mother, Mary Ella Lee (Little) Washburn: son Billy Jack: sister Karen (Washburn) Schoolcraft and husband Carl.

 

Bill is survived by his wife Jeanetta Washburn of Carlsbad. NM: five children: Billy Wayne Washburn, Jr. of Texas: Johnny Dean Washburn and wife. Edna of Lakewood. NM: Valerie Henley and fiancé, William Warren of Sugarland, TX; Shanna Smith and husband, John of Big Spring, TX; and Travis White of Carlsbad, NM; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; six siblings: Margie Washburn) Cole, Virginia (Washburn) Jackson and husband Jack, Johnny H. Washburn and wife Mellissa, Peggy (Washburn) Belew and husband Johnnie; Bobby Washburn and wife Shirley, and Belle (Washburn) Wilson and husband Stephen; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, and cousins.
