Betty Jo Crutcher, 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00 am at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. Military Honors will be performed by Carlsbad Veteran’s Honor Guard. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is handling the services.

Betty Jo Crutcher was born on October 19, 1947, in Spencer, West Virginia, to William and Lucille (Lanham) Frame. When asked about her birthday, Betty would jokingly say she wasn't entirely sure because the 18th had been crossed out and changed to the 19th on her birth record—a story she always enjoyed sharing.

Raised in West Virginia, Betty graduated from high school in May 1965. Later that year, in October, she enlisted in the United States Army. She proudly served her country in the Women's Army Corps and was honorably discharged in 1968 with the rank of Specialist E-5. Betty later married the love of her life, LeRoy Crutcher, in California. LeRoy also proudly served in the United States Army. Together they shared a life of love and raised one son, Robert Patrick Walker.

Throughout her career, Betty worked in banking and accounting for many years. Outside of work, she was an enthusiastic yard sale shopper and became affectionately known as the "Clock Lady" because of her treasured collection of clocks. She also had a special love for cardinals, which brought her great joy. More than anything, Betty was known for her kindness and generous spirit. She was "Grandma" to everyone, opening both her home and her heart to family, friends, and anyone in need. Her warm smile, positive outlook, and constant words of encouragement touched countless lives. Betty was truly a beautiful person whose love and compassion will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lucille Frame; her husband, LeRoy Crutcher; her son, Robert Patrick Walker; her sisters, Evelyn Gay Spore, Emma Carol Frame, and Mary Iris Frame (infant); and her brothers, Vernon "Po" Frame, Harmie John "Sam" Frame, William Jefferson "Bill" Frame, and Roger Floyd Frame.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Clelly Ralph "Tubby" Frame and his wife, Charlotte; her biological and adopted grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
