Benny Granger, 75, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at a Ft. Worth, TX Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born in Carlsbad, NM and later settled in Texas. He was very mechanically inclined and worked as a talented heavy equipment operator in the old fields of West Texas and New Mexico. He loved the outdoors and the mountains, finding his greatest solace and joy in nature, with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; Antonio "Charlie" Granger and Carmen Magee, stepfather Chris Magee, his brother, Alonzo Lara. Along with his nephews, Richard Granger Jr. and Antonio Ray Martinez.

Benny is survived by his loving daughters, Stacy DeHaven and husband, George and Victoria Escalante and husband, Juan. He leaves behind four grandchildren: Alexander DeHaven, Gabrielle DeHaven, Juaquin Escalante, and Leonardo Escalante. Brothers; Richard Granger, Antonio Granger, Fred Granger, and Steven Magee. Sisters; Sally Esquibel, Dorothy Hanttula, Lisa Sanchez, Patsy Granger and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Benny's warmth, kindness and positivity touched everyone who knew him. We will miss him and his gentle spirit every day and always carry his memory in our hearts. Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Edward Granger officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
