Belma M. Villa, 73, 603 N. 11^th Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away March 6, 2022 at Lakeview Christian Home. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.  A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at San Jose Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating.  Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.

Belma was born November 19, 1948 in Loving, NM to Jose Lopez and Elifonsa (Madrid) Martinez.  She attended NMSU-Carlsbad.  Belma and Jerry R. Villa were married June 10, 1967 here in Carlsbad where they had five wonderful children.  She worked for the Carlsbad Municipal Schools for 23 years as an instructional assistant before retiring in 2013. Belma was a very loveable person and cherished the time with her children and grandchildren.  She particularly loved cooking for her family at all the holidays. Belma was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Joe, Gilbert and Manuel Martinez and grandson, Eric Villa.

Survivors are her husband, Jerry R. Villa; sons: Jerome Villa and wife, Dora, Jeff Villa and wife, Nicole, Michael Villa, Philip Villa; daughter, Stephanie Villa; grandchildren: Kayla, Sophie, Josh, Gabby, Brandon, Victoria, Antonio, Giovanni, Kalista, Dominic; great-grandson, Eric Jack; inherited grandchildren: Stephanie and family, Eddie and family, Daniel and great grandchildren Reyna and DJ; siblings: Salvador Martinez, Oralia Agundez and husband, Eddie, Pete Martinez, Robert Martinez and wife, Hope, Rosella Reyes and husband, Pedro, Elsie Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jerome Villa, Jeff Villa, Michael Villa, Philip Villa, Antonio Villa and Ervey Martinez.
