Barbara Gayle Waldrop

Barbara Gayle Waldrop, 70, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, in Roswell, New Mexico.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, New Mexico, with Jimmy Hamilton officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Denton-Wood Funeral Home.

Barbara was born on June 1, 1955, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Damon Dale and Barbara Lou (Hale) Parrish. She married Michael Waldrop on May 1, 1974. Barbara worked at Corner Drug for many years. She enjoyed reading the Bible and watching crime and investigation shows on television.

Barbara was truly a wonderful and caring person who touched the lives of many. She had a generous heart and was always ready to help others, never turning away anyone in need. She was especially known for making sure no one went hungry—if someone needed a meal, Barbara would gladly feed them, often putting others before herself. Her kindness, warmth, and giving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael “Mike” Waldrop; her daughters, Janna Dossey and Joanna Waldrop; and her sister, Melissa Coronado.

Barbara is survived by her grandchildren, Michael Kinkade and Larrynn Meek (husband Frank); her great-grandchildren, Krystal Meek and Kenna Gayle Kinkade; her brothers, Dale Parrish (wife Tina) and Roger Parrish (wife Trish); her sister, Twila Mazur; her brother-in-law, Mario Coronado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
