Barbara L. Buzbee

Obituary Barbara L. Buzbee, 80, passed away July 4, 2019 at her daughters home in Carlsbad, NM. Graveside services are scheduled for 9:00 AM, Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park with Pastor David Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Barbara was born December 3, 1938 in Kansas to Otto and Ethel (Martin) Shane. She married Billy W. Buzbee April 21, 1961 and they moved to Carlsbad soon after. Barbara owned the Merle Norman Cosmetic Store four years and also helped Bill run Surplus City for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill Buzbee, son, Gregg Buzbee and brother Gary Shane. Survivors are daughter, Kandus Hester and husband, Ricky of Carlsbad; grandsons: Jarrad Hester and wife, Fabi, and Trent Hester, great granddaughter Olivia Hester all of Carlsbad; and sister-in-law: Mary Lou McKinney of Pearland, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
