Barbara Gayle Moore

Barbara Gayle Moore, 85, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away on July 9, 2026, after a short illness. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the Carlsbad Cemetery Gazebo with Pastor Howell Scott and Associate Pastor Kevin Pence officiating.

Barbara was born on February 3, 1941, to George Herbert Crutcher and Nellie Velma Crutcher in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family moved to California in the late 50s where Barbara graduated from Escondido High School in 1960.

After graduating, she married and had two children: Mark Allen Brewer and Deadra (Deedee) Brewer. Following a divorce she relocated back to Carlsbad to be close to her mom and that is when she met the love of her life and best friend, Jerald Moore. They married December 10, 1988 and had 38 wonderful years of marriage.

Deeply rooted in her faith, Barbara was a longtime and devoted member of First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Jerald Moore; her daughter, Deedee Brewer; her brother, Dennis Frank Crutcher; stepchildren: Jan Brewer, Darlene Williams, Bruce Moore, and Doris Sarpy, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She adored them all and always had a photo to show to whoever she met.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Leroy Herbert Crutcher; her son, Mark Allen Brewer.
