Barbara Jane Crow Davis, 79, of Black River Village Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away March 21, 2022 at her home.  Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Mike Adams officiating.

Barbara was born December 1, 1942 in Belton, Texas to Tommie and Mary Kate (Hood) Crow and moved to Carlsbad with her family as a young girl. She helped her parents run the Hall Edition Grocery Store and after graduating high school in 1961, she married Robert Tiffner and had two children, Roger and Susan. She enjoyed a part-time career while raising her children, and especially loved her time at JC Penny’s, Myrtice’s Dress Shop and sorting pecans with her dear friend Sue Stone. In the 1970’s, she was an active member and held all offices of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She married Jim Davis December 29, 1984 here in Carlsbad. Barbara was known for her wonderful cooking. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called her “Meme”.  Barbara enjoyed feeding the birds and watching the migration of the many birds that came through Black River. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommie and Mary Kate Crow.

Survivors are her husband, Jim Davis; son, Roger Tiffner and wife, Connie; daughters: Susan Wade and husband, Bob, Andrea Elizondo and husband, Ray; grandchildren: Clinton Tiffner and wife, Natalie, Jenna Wade, Jaxon Wade, Julia Elizondo and A.J. Elizondo; great-grandchildren: Graham, Emma, Emery and Finn Tiffner; brother, Tommy Crow and wife, Aloma; niece, Cristan Crow; stepmother, Emma Lee Clawson; stepbrother, Steve Boyd and wife, Diane, and numerous extended family.
