Barbara Beatrice Asbury

On May 10, 2025 Barbara Beatrice Brooks Asbury reunited with the love of her life Larry Allen Asbury Sr.

 Larry Allen Asbury, Sr June 3, 1942-August 14, 2016 and Barbara Beatrice Brooks Asbury April 4, 41 - May, 10, 2025. 

Larry and Barbara joined together in matrimony on June 16, 1962 becoming the most invincible team as a couple you could witness. Together they raised 4 incredible kids, fostered numerous kids and mentored many through their work with children and youth in church. While Larry made his career in radiology Barbara watched kids in her home and at Barbara's Little Peoples Place making an impact on the children and families she served. Barbara was an incredible singer who taught her brothers and kids how to sing, behave on a platform and is famous for teaching how to "project" sing out. Larry and Barbara created the singing group The Asburys, literally, and traveled to churches to minister in song eventually joining other families and becoming The All For Christ Singers. They were both incredible prayer warriors. Listening to them pray before going to bed was a highlight of our day. They both loved to study the Bible and Barbara would create curriculum teaching it in a class or to her grandchildren. They laid a firm foundation of faith in God for their family. The stories are many and memories made are precious to us. 

Larry and Barbara are survived by their 4 children Kara Prince her sons Michael Prince his wife Melinda and Kyle Prince his wife Kayla, Kathie Thomas her husband Daved and Kathies son Joshua Blaise Lacktis, Sharleen Strong her husband Gary and their children Sarah and Samuel and Allen Asbury his wife Heidi and their children Tegan and Tensley. They have 6 great grandchildren Jason, Alivia, Brenna, Alton, Londyn and Liam. Three brothers Sonny Brooks and his wife Rita, Bill Brooks and Randy Brooks. Many nieces, nephews and cousins that they loved very much. 

Per our parents wishes we will be doing a joint celebration of life on June 15, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Oasis Church in Carlsbad, NM. A graveside service is scheduled for June 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Carlsbad Cemetery. Everyone is welcome.
