Arturo "Tury" Garcia, III

Arturo “Tury” Garcia, III, 29, of Papershell Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away February 7, 2026. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Thursday, February 12, 2026 and 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Friday, February 13, 2026 at Apostolic Church of Carlsbad. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 PM, Friday, February 13, 2026 at Apostolic Church of Carlsbad with Pastor Simon King and Pastor Michael Bingham officiating.

Tury was born October 30, 1996 in El Paso, Texas to Arturo and Melva (Vasquez) Garcia, Jr. He gradated from Carlsbad High School in 2016. Tury received a bachelors degree from Eastern New Mexico University and then received a masters degree in mental health from University of New Mexico. He worked as a social worker for the State of New Mexico for several years. Most recently, Tury worked as a family counselor in mental health. He enjoyed traveling and caring for his dog, Caesar. Tury never met a stranger and had friends all over the country. He was preceded in death by his mother, Melva Vasquez.

Survivors are his father, Arturo Garcia, Jr.; grandmother, Guadalupe Longoria; grandmother, Gerorda Rodriguez; grandfather, Manuel Vasquez; siblings: Jeremy Garcia, Ivan Ortega, Adrian Ortega, Kayla Marie Garcia, George Cordero, Jayden Arturo Garcia, and Pricilla Cordero, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Juan Orona, Ferrell DeAguero, Jr., Jacob DeAguero, Eleuterio Rocha, IV, Alfredo Alvarez, Avery Trujillo, Matthew Trowbridge, and Michael Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Garcia, George Cordero, and Jayden Arturo Garcia.
