Antonio M. "Tony" Vasquez

Antonio M. “Tony” Vasquez, 90, of Pecos Highway, Loving, NM, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at his home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Sunday, September 21, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 22, 2025 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Tony was born December 17, 1934 in Ysleta, Texas to Benjamin and Elena (Mendoza) Vasquez and moved to Loving with his family in 1951. From a young age, Tony worked on the family farm and never strayed far from the land that he loved. He dedicated his life to farming. Even after retiring, Tony continued to work the farm and had a deep love for raising cattle.

Tony’s love for the farm was matched by his love for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and leaves behind a legacy of strength, perseverance, and hard work.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Alex Parraz, III; brothers: Epifanio, Ben, Frank, Max, Mike, and Lupe Vasquez.

Survivors are his wife, Sally Vasquez; daughter, Sylvia Cisneros; son, Rudy Vasquez and Jennifer; daughter, Cindy Parraz and husband, Alex; grandchildren: Madison, Mikayla, Mikenna, Mya, Shelby, Beau, Brandon, and Joshua; great-grandchildren: Brielle and Jaeden; siblings: Juan Vasquez, Helen Vasquez, Carmen Vasquez, Pete Vasquez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Beau Cisneros, Joshua Cisneros, Brandon Parraz, Alex Parraz, Jr., Felipe Vasquez, and Mark Lopez.

Honorary pallbearers are Rudy Vasquez, Efren Collins, Marcello Navarrette, and Henry Lopez.
