Anna Lee Meadors

Anna Lee Meadors was called to her eternal rest on April 20, 2021. She was born on December 30, 1929 in Paris, Logan County, Arkansas to Virgil Leroy Hice and Edith Biggs Hice.

Ann was married to Luther (L.E.) Everett Meadors on May 4, 1946 in Monticello, Arkansas. After their wedding, they moved to Carlsbad, NM where they were blessed with three children and raised them in Carlsbad.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her two sons: Luther (Luke) Everett Meadors, Jr. and Roscoe (Rocky) Virgil Meadors.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Cathy Harrison and son-in-law, Michael of San Antonio, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Denise Meadors of Carlsbad; three sisters: Jean Holloway and Madelean Tarlton of Arkansas, and Morean Donley of Mississippi; four grandchildren: Lucinda (Rusty) Andreasen of West Point, Nebraska, Rocky (Julie) Meadors of Carlsbad, Gregory (Joanna) Harrison of Camdenton, Missouri, Heather Harrison of Denver, Colorado and six great-grandchildren: Ashlyn and Jakob Andreasen, Ross and Jalie Meadors, Rosey and Ruth Harrison.
During her life, Ann pursued a variety of interests including league bowling, sewing, quilting, painting, traveling, and crafts of every nature. She loved playing games and participated in several card groups. Game time after family dinners was enjoyed by all. Ann was involved in the many activities with her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of The First Baptist Church. Ann volunteered at the Cat’s Meow and the Carlsbad Soup Kitchen. She worked in the sewing/craft department at WalMart for many years until her retirement.
Ann will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, friend and neighbor.
Services will be held at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Following the service, burial will be at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. There will be a visitation on Friday evening, 4 PM – 7 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home, 1001 N. Canal Street, Carlsbad, NM.
Pallbearers will be Rocky Meadors, Ross Meadors, Gregory Harrison, Rusty Andreasen, Jakob Andreasen and Richard Barkley. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
