Andrew A. "Buddy" Philpott

Andrew A. “Buddy”, 91, passed away May 9, 2025 at Lakeview Christian Home in Carlsbad, NM.

 A memorial celebration is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 7, 2025 at New Song Christian Fellowship, 1105 Pate Street, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Andrew was born on February 1, 1934 to John and Billie (Proctor) Philpott in San Angelo, Texas. He attended school in Capitan, NM. Buddy married Evelyn June Brannon October 6, 1952 in Portales, NM. They moved to Carlsbad in 1954. Buddy worked for Industrial Bus Line driving back and forth to the Potash Mines over 39 years without a ticket or accident. He was a member of the New Mexico Mounted Patrol, Reserve Police of Carlsbad, SE Eddy County Ambulance Service and La Huerta Baptist Church. Buddy enjoyed arrowhead hunting, fishing, deer hunting but most of all spending time with his family.

Andrew is preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters.

Andrew is survived by his wife of 72 years of marriage, June Philpott; daughter: Marilyn Sullivan and husband, Bobby, Karen Whitman and husband, Lyle, Sharon Morelli and husband, Rick, Roselyn Mosbrucker and husband, Marty; grandchildren: Lisa Hufstedler and husband, Dave, Meagan Powell and husband, Aaron, Mistie Hancock and husband, Lester, Melissa Lariviere and husband, Mike, Christina Whitman, Richard McDonald and wife, Monica, Robert McDonald and wife, Katrina, T.J. McCormick, Amica Acritelli; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Pat Philpott Robinson; brother, Johnny Philpott; and numerous nieces and nephews.
