Alfredo (Freddy) Buendia

Freddy C. Buendia, 64, of Carlsbad, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

There will be no visitation. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Tuesday January 27, 2026 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.

Freddy was born March 13, 1961, in Carlsbad, NM to Ben and Concepcion (Castillo) Buendia. He attended Carlsbad Schools and graduated from Carlsbad High School. He loved music and enjoyed spending time with his family. Freddy was known for always having a smile on his face and being happy.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Ben Buendia.

Survivors are his mother, Concepcion Buendia; four brothers: Manuel Buendia and wife, Maggie, Rick Buendia, Abel Buendia, Ramon Buendia and wife, Liz; four sisters: Rita Martinez and husband, Fernie, Sally Buendia, Gloria Buendia, and Anita Buendia; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be Manuel Buendia, Rick Buendia, Abel Buendia, Ramon Buendia, Fernando Martinez, and Kevin Martinez.

Freddy will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
