Abel Castillo, Jr. (Tito), age 36, gained his wings on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at HCA Medical Center in Houston, TX. His fight until the end showed how strong he was. He will be greatly missed by all who love him.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home followed by a rosary at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM.
Abel Castillo, Jr. (Tito) was born on July 8, 1987 in Dumas, Texas to Abel and Lorraine (Huereque) Castillo, Sr. His life was a testament to kindness and generosity. With a warm smile that could brighten even the darkest of days, he touched the lives of all those around him. Known for his unwavering support and willingness to help others without judgment, Abel exemplified the true meaning of compassion.
Abel found great joy in the company of loved ones and shared countless memorable moments engaging in his favorite pastimes. His magnetic personality drew people towards him effortlessly, making him the life of every gathering. Whether he was cracking jokes or engaging in his favorite sports like softball and golf, or enjoying card games and belting out tunes at karaoke – even if his vocal talents weren't quite American Idol level – Abel embraced every moment with enthusiasm.
Abel was preceded in death, by his grandparents: Osvaldo and Baudelia Castillo, and Alice Larez Huereque.
Survivors are his parents, Abel and Lorraine (Huereque) Castillo, Sr.; siblings: Jessica Calderon, Andrew Castillo, Clarissa Castillo, Melinda Martinez, Monique Valenzuela, and Pamela Villa; fiancé, Casandra Munoz; children: Abel Castillo III, Osvaldo (OJ) Castillo, Elias Castillo, Zayn Castillo, Benji Castillo, and Reah Castillo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Castillo, Abel Castillo, III, OJ Castillo, Gabriel Ramirez, Steven Huereque, Chris Valenzuela, Eric Wiggins, and Alex Perez. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Huereque, Sr., Frank Huereque, Jr., Chris Huereque, Anthony Huereque, and Adrian Munoz.
