- About Us
Bernard “Bud” Andrew Rosprim, 81, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, peacefully entered eternal life surrounded by family Saturday, March 3, 2018. Born November 17, 1936, in Palestine, Texas to Alphonse and Rena Rosprim, Bud had an active childhood full of baseball, football and kick the can. He enlisted in the Navy on August 2, 1955, as a Diesel Mechanic and would later be known for his skill fixing motors.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Rena; six siblings: Marie, Dorothy, Alphonse, Jr., Theresa, Elizabeth and Joe.
He is survived by his wife of sixty loving years, Gloria “Jeanie” Rosprim; siblings: Tommy, Jeanette and Dorothy Nell; children: Andy (Linda) Rosprim, Rhonda (Jody) Bannister and David (Darlene) Rosprim; grandchildren: Jimmy (Etonne) Rosprim, Tommy (Emily) Rosprim, Lindsey (Chevy) Chase, Daniel (Shara) Bannister, Matt (Fran) Bannister, Jerrica Rosprim and Demi Bannister and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Bud would say he had to walk to school and it was about a mile away…and that was that. There were no uphill treks both ways, in the snow, without shoes because he was an easy going and well-mannered man. While a potash refinery operator he became a masonry contractor before founding Rosprim Masonry, he retired after thirty years in the business. Bud enjoyed being in the mountains of Southeast New Mexico, hunting, fishing, playing cards, cooking…including his famous Chili, Fudge and Texas Trash but his favorite pastime was being with his family, especially his wife, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There will be a Mass at St. Edward Catholic Church on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 10:30 AM followed by a Celebration of Life and Luncheon at the Parish Hall located at 209 N. Guadalupe Street. In lieu of flowers/plants, please donate to Encompass Cares, 513 S. Canal Street, Carlsbad, NM 88220
