Caroline is a Carlsbad native and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1985. She graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 1997 with a degree in Secondary Education with a emphasis in Mathematics and a Minor in Psychology.

Caroline went to work for the Carlsbad Municipal Schools in 1997. She earned her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 1999 from New Mexico State University.

Caroline is a member of Church of God of Prophecy. She has worked as a part-time Secretary/Receptionist at Denton-Wood Funeral Home since 2006.
